Google’s NotebookLM is amazing. You can upload PDFs, websites, YouTube videos, audio files, Google Docs or Google Slides, and NotebookLM will summarize them and make interesting connections between them. The way it works, has less hallucinations (not zero) when it basically extracts information from your uploaded documents and sources only. You can then ask questions, generate summaries, create study guides, and even produces audio overviews of the content, the AI being “grounded” in your specific information.

I am ceasing to write up financial advisor products when they get launched. Too many firms, too many products, search engine optimization (SEO) is not what it used to be anymore when ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and the likes have become more mainstream now than before. 

So for any of the products, get hold of the benefit illustration and associated information sources, plonk it into NotebookLM and fire your questions. As you can probably tell, I ask the same set of questions. To assist you, here are my questions:

The above statement will be the guiding the changes in the job market for years to come. We are in the era where artificial intelligence (AI) is absorbing human knowledge. And we are training AI with our likes and approvals over social media, browsing patterns over e-commerce platforms and prompts keyed into the likes of ChatGPT.

The pace of change is accelerating. Advantages have limited runway and competition is stiff. The hollowing out of the middle continues when less staff are required to deliver outcomes sought. When not everyone has the tool, whomever has the tool had the advantage. When everyone has the tool, whoever can make better use of the tool has the advantage.

At the top end, agentic AI is up and coming. Agentic AI has a feedback component which will make the firm’s data on which it is trained, proprietary and likely exclusive to the firm only. So not just better prompts yield better results, but the data beneath will start to be differentiator between good and better results.
